NEW “CP” - Connecting People

Unemployed & Underemployed Encouragement here @ CPC
Contact Buz Graham

Have you been affected during these
difficult economic times?

- Members who have lost their job
- Families whose single or married children are unemployed
- Individuals let go from a primary job and have taken a “lesser”
job in an unrelated field
- Individuals still in their primary job but hours have been cut back

The Congregational Care Ministry Team wants to care for those who are going through unemploment.

We are focusing on identifying those families with needs and are asking each individual or family how they would like CPC to walk with them at this stressful time. Our primary goal is simply to reach out in love and seek to care for those with needs.

John 13:34-35

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

Our goal is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every person who visits or joins Christ Presbyterian Church and to equip the congregation to love and care for one another.

Our Purpose and Vision:  To organize and foster a ministry of belonging, refuge and renewal among the people of Christ Presbyterian Church, so that congregation members will serve as God’s “redemptive ambassadors” to bring healing, encouragement, and strength to one another as we walk together in faith.

We know that we are all in a spiritual battle and are vulnerable to the enemy’s weapons.

·        We are all wounded people in need of healing.

·        We let others know about our wounds and weaknesses.

·        We avail ourselves of biblically based help offered to all.

·        Our hearts are being healed and transformed by God’s power.

·        We allow ourselves to be held accountable to one another according to God’s Word.

We care about and for one another as part of an accepting community.

·        We consider the call to shepherd one another as a call belonging to each member.·
We make time to be together often.

·        We know each other and know we need each other.

·        We are alert and responsive to the needs of those in our community.

·        We love and serve one another in meekness and humility.

·        We care for the needy through personal and CPC ministries.

·        We minister to all, for we are all being transformed.

·        We enter into our fellowship times purposefully, with the knowledge that our words are a
powerful means of change in the lives of our brothers and sisters.

We minister to those who have unique needs.

·        The widowed and the single parent find helping hands.

·        The orphaned or child of a single parent finds “extended parents.”

·        The disabled are welcomed and honored.

·        The sick or shut-in are regularly visited.

·        The poor find ready sustenance.

·        The discouraged, the disheartened, and depressed are encouraged and comforted.

The leaders are devoted to servanthood, to shepherd the flock of CPC.

·        They know and are known by the people because they spend time with them.

·        They demonstrate humility, meekness, openness, and vulnerability.

·        They pray with people and intercede for the people.

·        They sacrificially love and serve one another and the people.

·        They teach, guide, and counsel by God’s word as they also are changed by it.

·        They are accountable to God and each other for their devotion to the people.

·        They coordinate compassionate responses to people in need.

·        They mentor, support, and encourage the people to care for one another.
