PARISH NURSES

Parish Nursing is a ministry to meet the health needs and interests of our church, and is dedicated to the service of the whole person: body, mind and spirit. This ministry is not intended to serve in the same capacity as a home health care agency, but includes some of the following services:

• Visitation to individuals who are housebound

• Visitation to individuals in a nursing or retirement home

• Visitation to individuals who are experiencing a loss (death, divorce, job, etc.)

• Screenings and health fairs

• Availability of a nurse to provide personal health counseling

• Availability of health education pamphlets and resources

• Accompany members to physician visits

• Volunteer training to assist and offer services to church members

• Help in caring of the aging parent

• Advice on exercise and nutrition
