worship choir
OVERVIEW
Like the chief musicians who led the processional into battle in ancient days, or like the psalmist whose heart was filled with songs to the God of Israel; so are we to lift our praises in worship! At Christ Presbyterian Church, one of the ways we seek to honor God is through the praises of His people through the gift of song!
The Worship Choir of Christ Presbyterian Church in Nashville has a legacy of excellence. From their first rehearsals under the direction and fine leadership of Lynn Hodges and John Coates, the CPC Worship Choir has enjoyed many incredible moments of worship and praise throughout the years. Many of Nashville’s finest musicians and artists have served in the history of the music ministry of CPC. The repertory of the Worship Choir ranges from classical and traditional, to black gospel and contemporary. The Worship Choir performs weekly during the worship service from mid-August to mid-June, with a break in the Summer. They also are featured in our annual Christmas Program, Holy Week services, and various special outreach events.
The Worship Choir is under the direction of Tom Grassi, Minister of Music at Christ Presbyterian Church. Mr. Grassi hails from California, where he served 15 years at Valley Community Church in Pleasanton, CA. Tom received his degree in Music with an emphasis in Sacred Choral Literature from San Diego Christian College in El Cajon, CA. He is an award winning writer and composer with acknowledgements from the Gospel Music Association, the American Society of Composer’s Authors and Publishers, the John Lennon Foundation and Billboard Magazine.
For inquiries about how to join the choir, and to schedule an interview with Tom, please contact the Music Ministries offices at 615.301-3514 or email Tom Grassi at tgrassi@christpres.org. We would love to have you! The choir is a family… we won’t bite... so come on out and visit us!
