D-Groups

All D-Groups meet on site with the exception of twelfth graders who have the option to meet off site.  This is to assist parents of small children attending other programs.

The D-Group calendar will follow the schedule of the larger church calendar this coming year.  D-groups begin September 10th. There will be no D-Group activities on nights where there are church wide functions (i.e. church picnics) and no on-site D-Groups on nights where there are no scheduled church activities.  D-Group leaders have the option of organizing fellowship activities on these off nights.

We strongly encourage you to consider participating in this peer – to – peer ministry and see it is an essential way we facilitate fellowship and develop for our students strong Christian friendships.

To recognize the benefit of a D-Group a student should plan on regular attendance.

Rising 7th graders participate in choosing who they will be in a D-Group with.  An opportunity will be given in 9th grade to make possible changes. There are exceptional circumstances, but we ask students to first try and work through issues with members of their D-Group before attempting to switch or drop out.  As a parent, please contact a staff member if such a concern arises.

Junior High D-Groups meet on Wednesday nights from 6:15 to 7:30.  All students meet together for a time of worship prior to breakout sessions in their respective D-groups.  These groups meet in the bottom floor of building C.

D-Groups are to be small group opportunities for our students that provide accountability, prayer, fellowship, and biblical study and nurture. D-Groups are encouraged to meet with their adult leader outside of stated D-Group times.

Parents are encouraged to contact their student’s D-Group leader and help develop and implement these important times.  These times could be as elaborate as a sleepover or as simple as meeting for dinner at a restaurant.  These times could be as purposeful as a service project or as relaxed as a campout.
