Fostering Hope Nashville – Meal Prep/Delivery for Kids

As we continue to partner to support DCS and kids in foster care into 2023, we wanted to make you aware of a weekly opportunity to help the most vulnerable ones in our community — children and teens who have been removed from their homes and placed into the foster system. Can you imagine what it must be like for these kids?

Fostering Hope Nashville has committed to provide meals on Saturday evenings from June 3 through August 7.

The DCS cottages, which are located on Foster Ave. in Nashville, have kids sleeping there most nights while they await foster care placement. The DCS workers do not have a way to cook meals for the kids besides warming up something in the microwave from the refrigerator/freezer. A few churches in the area along with Tennessee Kids Belong and the governor’s office have come together to try to provide dinner for them each night (as well as breakfast and lunch on the weekends).

We need your help so we can consistently provide Saturday dinner meals for 15 – 20 people. The meal needs to be delivered to the DCS cottage at 5 pm. Meals can be homemade or delivered from a local restaurant through a delivery service like DoorDash.
