DESCRIPTION:As we continue to partner to support DCS and kids in foster care into 2023\, we wanted to make you aware of a weekly opportunity to help the most vulnerable ones in our community — children and teens who have been removed from their homes and placed into the foster system. Can you imagine what it must be like for these kids? \nFostering Hope Nashville has committed to provide meals on Saturday evenings from now until the end of May. \nThe DCS cottages\, which are located on Foster Ave. in Nashville\, have kids sleeping there most nights while they await foster care placement. The DCS workers do not have a way to cook meals for the kids besides warming up something in the microwave from the refrigerator/freezer. A few churches in the area along with Tennessee Kids Belong and the governor’s office have come together to try to provide dinner for them each night (as well as breakfast and lunch on the weekends). \nWe need your help so we can consistently provide Saturday dinner meals for 15 – 20 people. The meal needs to be delivered to the DCS cottage at 5 pm. Meals can be homemade or delivered from a local restaurant through a delivery service like DoorDash. \nWill you join us? We have covered the slots through March 4. Consider inviting others to join you — your Connect Group\, Bible Study groups\, or your close friends. \nSIGN UP AND CHOOSE A SATURDAY HERE. \nIf interested\, please go ahead and sign up on the link above. DESCRIPTION:All women are invited to join us for a spring Bible study. We will use the new CPC study A Firm Foundation: How to Study the Literary Genres of Scripture. This ten week study will cover ten genres of Scripture and look at the whole story of the Bible. We’ll have large group teaching in the sanctuary followed by small group discussions. SUMMARY:Fostering Hope Nashville – Meal Prep/Delivery
DESCRIPTION:As we continue to partner to support DCS and kids in foster care into 2023\, we wanted to make you aware of a weekly opportunity to help the most vulnerable ones in our community — children and teens who have been removed from their homes and placed into the foster system. Can you imagine what it must be like for these kids? \nFostering Hope Nashville has committed to provide meals on Saturday evenings from now until the end of May. \nThe DCS cottages\, which are located on Foster Ave. in Nashville\, have kids sleeping there most nights while they await foster care placement. The DCS workers do not have a way to cook meals for the kids besides warming up something in the microwave from the refrigerator/freezer. A few churches in the area along with Tennessee Kids Belong and the governor’s office have come together to try to provide dinner for them each night (as well as breakfast and lunch on the weekends). \nWe need your help so we can consistently provide Saturday dinner meals for 15 – 20 people. The meal needs to be delivered to the DCS cottage at 5 pm. Meals can be homemade or delivered from a local restaurant through a delivery service like DoorDash. \nWill you join us? We have covered the slots through March 4. DESCRIPTION:In partnership with Christ Presbyterian Academy\, we will gather for a time of communal prayer for The Covenant School families. Pastors Scott Sauls and David Filson\, as well as CPA Head of School Nate Morrow will lead this time of prayer\, scripture\, and worship. All CPA and CPC families are invited\, and parents may bring their children if they like.  \n____________________ \nWhen the unthinkable happens and we are made to feel our frailty and helplessness in a fallen\, tragic\, and senselessly violent world\, one of the most important things we can do is come together to seek the Lord in prayer and lament. \nThis evening\, Monday\, March 27\, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.\, we will be opening our sanctuary for a community event\, open to any and every person who wishes to attend – An Evening of Prayer for The Covenant School Community. Children of all ages are also welcome. We will spend time together expressing our confusion\, our sorrow\, our anger\, and our craving for a hope that can only be found in the promises of the gospel and the resurrection.
