SUMMARY:Fostering Hope Nashville – Meal Prep/Delivery for Kids
DESCRIPTION:As we continue to partner to support DCS and kids in foster care into 2023\, we wanted to make you aware of a weekly opportunity to help the most vulnerable ones in our community — children and teens who have been removed from their homes and placed into the foster system. Can you imagine what it must be like for these kids? \nFostering Hope Nashville has committed to provide meals on Saturday evenings from June 3 through August 7. \nThe DCS cottages\, which are located on Foster Ave. in Nashville\, have kids sleeping there most nights while they await foster care placement. The DCS workers do not have a way to cook meals for the kids besides warming up something in the microwave from the refrigerator/freezer. A few churches in the area along with Tennessee Kids Belong and the governor’s office have come together to try to provide dinner for them each night (as well as breakfast and lunch on the weekends). \nWe need your help so we can consistently provide Saturday dinner meals for 15 – 20 people. The meal needs to be delivered to the DCS cottage at 5 pm. Meals can be homemade or delivered from a local restaurant through a delivery service like DoorDash. \nWill you join us? Consider inviting others to join you — your Connect Group\, Bible Study groups\, or your close friends. \nSIGN UP AND CHOOSE A SATURDAY HERE. \nIf interested\, please go ahead and sign up on the link above. DESCRIPTION:We are looking forward to spending the day with our rising 6th graders at SoundWaves on the 21st of this month. Please find the registration link and some logistical information about the event below. \nRegister Here \nGeneral Info: \n\nCost of registration is $30 per student. However\, we desire all students to have the opportunity to participate. So if cost might be an issue please contact Mac Purdy for scholarship opportunities. (mpurdy@christpres.org)\nWe will meet at the church Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. in Parking Lot 1. And we hope to have the bus loaded and on our way by 11:30 a.m.\nPizza will be provided for lunch. \nWe will plan to depart SoundWaves at 5:30 p.m. for Neffs’ house.\nAround 6:15 p.m. we should be arriving at the Neffs’ home for pickup. If your student wishes to stick around\, we would love to have them stay for our summer house hang at that same address.\n\nPacking List: \n\nSwimsuit\nTowel \nSunscreen \nChange of clothes\n\nParents\, we would love for some of you to join us! There is a spot in the form to sign up if you would be willing to join us as a chaperone.
