Memorial Service & Visitation for Dr. W. Wilson Benton

It is with both sorrow and hope in the Lord that we share the passing of our beloved former interim senior pastor, Dr. W. Wilson Benton Jr. (1941–2025), who entered the presence of his Savior on the morning of January 26 at the age of 83.

A visitation and service will be held here at Christ Presbyterian Church, Old Hickory Blvd., on Friday afternoon.

Dr. Benton faithfully served as our interim senior pastor for five consecutive years, leaving a lasting legacy of wisdom, compassion, and Christ-centered leadership in our church community. His decades-long ministry extended beyond Christ Presbyterian Church, with pastoral service at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, MS, and Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church in St. Louis, MO. An ordained minister since 1966 and a recipient of a doctorate from the University of Edinburgh, Wilson’s life reflected a deep commitment to the gospel and a genuine love for God’s people.

We extend the sympathy of our congregation to his loving wife, Pam Benton, his children Louis Benton, Paige Brown, and Laura Pearson, and his treasured grandchildren. We are comforted by the assurance that Wilson woke to the face of our Lord, but we lift his family and friends in prayer for peace and guidance during this season of both grief and hope.
