The New York Times columnist David Brooks distinguishes between the “resume virtues” and the “eulogy virtues.” While most of us dedicate the good part of our lives investing in the “resume virtues,” we tend to have a higher general regard for the “eulogy virtues.” In a sense, Paul is drawing a similar contrast in 1 Corinthians 13, famously known as “the love chapter.”
