The Psalms of Ascent

The Psalms of Ascent are a collection of songs pilgrims sang as they made their way up to Jerusalem, and while they were there for worship. The Holy City sat on a hill, highlighting the symbolism of the geography-the journey to God was upward, hence, Psalms of Ascent. These Psalms are songs for pilgrim-disciples, believers who are always journeying and always learning. These two go hand in hand-journeying and learning. One does not happen effectively without the other. Come along on the journey as we study what these fifteen Psalms teach us about who we are to God and who he is to us.
