The Parables of Jesus

Flannery O’Connor said, “A story is a way of saying something that cannot be said in any other way.”  We are people of stories. Jesus’ parables are more than just elaborate illustrations.  They are stories that serve the purpose of clarifying and confusing, of opening the eyes and ears of the disciples while shutting the eyes and ears of many of the religious leaders and teachers of the day.  They are stories meant to reveal what the Kingdom of God is like and who we are in relationship to it.  Join us in this nine-part series on some of Jesus’ most well-known and instructive stories.
