Lessons & Carols – Old Hickory Blvd (3 & 5 p.m.)

Come, as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ with a special, candlelight service on Christmas Eve at Old Hickory Blvd. “Lessons and Carols” is a traditional service celebrated by churches throughout time and across the globe. It began in the late 1800s in the Cathedral of Turo in the UK, and was later performed regularly at Kings College in Cambridge beginning in 1918. There are seven lessons from Scripture, leading us from Isaiah’s prophecy of the Messiah’s birth to the annunciation to the visit of the magi. Carols are sung by the congregation in response to each lesson.

3:00 p.m. Service

• The nursery will be available for ages 0-2 (no additional Kids programming).
• We’ll have a Wiggles & Giggles area in the Gathering Room for families with small children to hang out and play (livestream TV available).
• Our friends with special needs and their families can enjoy worship with buddy support from the Window Room (livestream TV available). Please notify Gigi Sanders if you have need of a buddy by December 21st.
• ASL (American Sign Language) interpretation will be available at the floor level on the left-side of the Sanctuary

• Our friends with special needs and their families can enjoy worship from the Window Room (livestream TV available) if desired.

• No Kids programming will be provided.
