SUMMARY:Lessons & Carols – Old Hickory Blvd (3 & 5 p.m.)
DESCRIPTION:Come\, as we celebrate the birth of our Savior\, Jesus Christ with a special\, candlelight service on Christmas Eve at Old Hickory Blvd. “Lessons and Carols” is a traditional service celebrated by churches throughout time and across the globe. It began in the late 1800s in the Cathedral of Turo in the UK\, and was later performed regularly at Kings College in Cambridge beginning in 1918. There are seven lessons from Scripture\, leading us from Isaiah’s prophecy of the Messiah’s birth to the annunciation to the visit of the magi. Carols are sung by the congregation in response to each lesson. \n3:00 p.m. Service \n\nThe nursery will be available for ages 0-2 (no additional Kids programming).\nWe’ll have a Wiggles & Giggles area in the Gathering Room for families with small children to hang out and play (livestream TV available).\nOur friends with special needs and their families can enjoy worship with buddy support from the Window Room (livestream TV available). Lewis’s The Screwtape Letters has entertained and enlightened readers the world over with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life and foibles from the unique vantage point of Screwtape\, a highly placed assistant to “Our Father Below.” At once wildly comic\, deadly serious\, and strikingly original\, C.S. Lewis gives us the correspondence of the wordly-wise devil to his nephew Wormwood\, a novice demon in charge of securing the damnation of an ordinary young man. The Screwtape Letters is the most engaging account of temptation—and triumph over it—ever written.

DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, February 4\, we have the opportunity to serve our community by partnering with Room In The Inn (RITI). RITI is a ministry that works alongside churches to host and feed men in the community who find themselves in a situation without a stable home. We will be serving and eating dinner with our Room In The Inn guests. I would love for you\, your 4th or 5th grader\, and/or your whole family to join us as we serve these individuals in our city.  \nWhere: Gathering Room (Christ Pres.
