Walking With You Through Life's Milestones and Difficult Times–with Love and Prayer
Life can be hard. Things like grief, fear, and uncertainty are common to us all.
In a fallen world, everyone goes through seasons of feeling insecure, overwhelmed, and under-encouraged. When this happens, it’s easy to assume that no one understands—to sink into shame as circumstances unravel. For hurts like addiction, an imploding marriage, job loss, a wayward child, or loneliness, the church at its best exists as a place of refuge and healing. We at Christ Presbyterian Church want very much to be that kind place. Just reach out to our Care Team. That first, brave step will draw you out of isolation in such a way that your burdens can be shared. We are here for you.
New Here or Needing Support?
If you’re new to Christ Presbyterian Church or perhaps visited multiple times, join us at our Newcomer Coffee! Newcomer Coffees are held three times a year shortly before the next session of CPC 101 begins. This is an opportunity to meet several of our pastors, church staff, and elders, as well as find out more about the church and how to connect.
If you've visited Christ Presbyterian once or maybe even been attending for some time but would like to learn more about getting connected or what it means to become a member of the church, we invite you to join us for CPC 101! This informative and interactive class walks you through our church mission, vision, and values, along with foundations of the Presbyterian faith.
On Wednesday nights, we offer both DivorceCare and GriefShare. DivorceCare offers a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for anyone navigating separation or divorce, regardless of circumstances, background, or current marital status. GriefShare is a free, 13-week seminar and support group that will help you heal from hurt and loss.
Membership & Baptism
Membership is a key part of our church life and includes things like mutual care, accountability, and being shepherded by our elders and pastors. This shared foundation helps create a trusted environment where people can open up, grow, and walk through life together with confidence. To become church members, individuals will participate in a session of CPC 101, apply for church membership, and then meet with a pastor or church elder to share more of their story.
Baptism is a sacrament—a practice instituted by Jesus—for the New Testament Church. Baptism is the sign and seal of God’s covenant of grace to his people in the church—his promise to us that he saves and is faithful to them. In line with the Presbyterian faith, we administer baptism by sprinkling water over the individual, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Baptism is not only for those who profess faith in and obedience to Christ but is also for the infants and children of one or both believing parents.
New Communing Members are children and youth who join our church as members and are welcomed into joining in taking communion. Those interested in becoming New Communing Members will go through a CPC 101 curriculum tailored to their age group, where they'll learn about what it means to be a member of the church, about the sacraments, and other foundations of faith. They'll then have an interview with one of our pastors to share more about their story.
Serve With Care Ministry
There are multiple ways you can serve with the Care Ministry and we encourage you to reach out to us here if you have any questions or would like more information. Opportunities include:
- Host Team: Host Team members help create a welcoming environment for guests and congregants by opening doors, handing out bulletins, and answering questions. Volunteers serve in
once-a-month rotations. - Communion Team: Communion Team members help support the sacrament of communion during the worship service by prepping communion trays before the service on Sunday morning or releasing rows during the service for people to take communion. Volunteers serve in once-a-month rotations.
- Offering Team: Offering Team members assist in assigned sections of the sanctuary during the worship service to collect the offering in baskets passed between rows. Volunteers serve in
once-a-month rotations. - Bereavement Team: The Bereavement Team serves by coming alongside those facing the loss of a loved one. The team helps with needs such as setting up, directing, and offering support for visitation and funeral services. Volunteers serve on an as-needed basis as services arise.
- Meal Team: The Meal Team serves by providing meals to those who are facing a challenging time, such as recovery from surgery, illness, or loss of a loved one. Volunteers serve on an as-needed basis as needs in the congregation arise.
