SUMMARY:Kids Serve: Room in the Inn
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, February 4\, we have the opportunity to serve our community by partnering with Room In The Inn (RITI). RITI is a ministry that works alongside churches to host and feed men in the community who find themselves in a situation without a stable home. We will be serving and eating dinner with our Room In The Inn guests. I would love for you\, your 4th or 5th grader\, and/or your whole family to join us as we serve these individuals in our city.  \nWhere: Gathering Room (Christ Pres. Church) \nWhen:  Sunday\, February 4th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  \n\nPlease RSVP here by Sunday\, January 28th.\nKids Ministry will be providing fried chicken and a fruit platter.\nIt would be great if we could bless these men with other homemade sides and desserts. DESCRIPTION:CPC101 for Old Hickory Blvd is an informative and interactive 10-week session (through March 10) that walks you through our church mission/vision/values\, the Presbyterian faith\, and is the first step in our membership process. Our facilitators lead adults through lessons supported by our CPC101 workbook\, which you’ll receive a copy of upon arrival. Membership is not required once you complete CPC101\, but for those wishing to become members\, participation in CPC101 is a prerequisite. SUMMARY:Lessons & Carols – Old Hickory Blvd (3 & 5 p.m.)
DESCRIPTION:Come\, as we celebrate the birth of our Savior\, Jesus Christ with a special\, candlelight service on Christmas Eve at Old Hickory Blvd. “Lessons and Carols” is a traditional service celebrated by churches throughout time and across the globe. It began in the late 1800s in the Cathedral of Turo in the UK\, and was later performed regularly at Kings College in Cambridge beginning in 1918. There are seven lessons from Scripture\, leading us from Isaiah’s prophecy of the Messiah’s birth to the annunciation to the visit of the magi. Carols are sung by the congregation in response to each lesson. \n3:00 p.m. Service \n\nThe nursery will be available for ages 0-2 (no additional Kids programming).\nWe’ll have a Wiggles & Giggles area in the Gathering Room for families with small children to hang out and play (livestream TV available).\nOur friends with special needs and their families can enjoy worship with buddy support from the Window Room (livestream TV available).
