SUMMARY:Christ Pres Leadership Development Training
DESCRIPTION:Christ Pres’ Leadership Development Training begins mid-January. This training is required for all elder\, deacon\, and deaconess nominees\, although all adults are welcome to attend! This training cycle will be different from years past in that it will largely be self-guided with video supplements; however\, there will be monthly Saturday morning gathering/lectures (breakfast provided) that the participants will be required to attend. The first gathering will be on January 18 at 8:00 a.m. at the Old Hickory Blvd campus. The Saturday sessions are scheduled as follows\, all at 8:00 a.m.: \n\nJanuary 18\nFebruary 15\nMarch 22\nApril 26\nMay 17\n\nThe required reading will mostly center around The Truths We Confess\, by R.C. Sproul\, and the Presbyterian Church in America’s Book of Church Order. You may want to obtain these materials and get a head start on the reading. \nIf you would like to attend the training\, please sign up here no later than January 10\, 2025.

SUMMARY:Lessons & Carols – Old Hickory Blvd (3 & 5 p.m.)
DESCRIPTION:Come\, as we celebrate the birth of our Savior\, Jesus Christ with a special\, candlelight service on Christmas Eve at Old Hickory Blvd. “Lessons and Carols” is a traditional service celebrated by churches throughout time and across the globe. It began in the late 1800s in the Cathedral of Turo in the UK\, and was later performed regularly at Kings College in Cambridge beginning in 1918. There are seven lessons from Scripture\, leading us from Isaiah’s prophecy of the Messiah’s birth to the annunciation to the visit of the magi. Carols are sung by the congregation in response to each lesson. \nWATCH HERE \n3:00 p.m. Service \n\nOur friends with special needs and their families can enjoy worship with buddy support from the Window Room (livestream TV available). Please notify Gigi Sanders if you have need of a buddy.\nNursery available.\nA Wiggles and Giggles room will be available for those who need it.\n\n5:00 p.m. Service \n\nOur friends with special needs and their families can enjoy worship from the Window Room (livestream TV available) if desired.\nNo Nursery or Kids programming available.\nA Wiggles and Giggles room will be available for those who need it.\n\nNo ASL interpretation will be available at either service. \n\nRegister to serve on the Hospitality team at one/both services.  \nRegister to serve in the Nursery at the 3 p.m. service.

DESCRIPTION:Community Christmas is an all-church family event! Invite your friends & neighbors as we celebrate the season with an hour of worship and stories presented by our very own Christ Presbyterian Church Worship & Arts team. Come enjoy an incredible bluegrass style band as we sing along to familiar Christmas carols\, hear the kids choir and other special songs and short stories as we worship the birth of our Savior in this special service. Representatives from all three of our campuses will also be helping to lead the worship experience! \nA festive After-Party on the Breezeway will immediately follow the service. Don’t miss sampling a variety of soups\, cookies and hot cocoa as you gather with friends afterward and enjoy time together! SUMMARY:Churchwide Tailgate & Turkey Bowl 2024
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our annual Churchwide Tailgate and Turkey Bowl! We’ll have a time of food and fellowship after the Learning Group hour from 11:30 a.m. until we run out of food. The entire church is invited to potluck-style tailgate on the Breezeway with BBQ and burgers provided. Once you’ve registered below\, families with last names A-N are encouraged to bring a side dish and last names O-Z are encouraged to bring a dessert. \nTurkey Bowl MMXXIV will be held on the CPA Soccer Field with games beginning around 12:30 p.m. and ending by 2:30. Everyone from 4th Grade to 12th grade\, college\, young adults\, and anyone else willing to play\, is invited to join a team for this flag football tournament! Teams will be mixed ages with a focus on fun and safety. You can also join in the fun as a football official to keep games “in bounds\,” throw flags when necessary\, and help keep score (minimal math skills required). \nRegister Here for Lunch and/or for Turkey Bowl Flag Football

DESCRIPTION:Special Needs Caregiver Support Group Coffee typically meets monthly – on the last Sunday of each month. Join us Sunday mornings during the Learning Group hour\, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in Room #113 in CPA Veritas Hall. \nThis time of support and prayer is geared toward families of children with varying needs\, including moms\, dads\, and caregivers. If your son/daughter or family member doesn’t usually attend our Learning Group for Children with Special Needs and will need a buddy\, please reach out to us at specialneeds@christpres.org so we can try to best meet your needs. Coffee can be found in the church lobby\, and we will have light snacks for your enjoyment!
